Title analyse
James Bond
- Gold finger
The opening scene
-
Effect on audience – eye catching
-
Likes: Eye
catching, projects picture for some understanding of the film, music is reflect
on the film because is song is about ‘goldfinger’, the introduction reflects on
the title of the film, dramatic and powerful music which reflect on the
strength of Bond and the film. Some scenes at the start of the film. Starts the
same way as it ends, gold hand.
21 jump
street
The
opening scene
-
The audience would most likely be teenagers since the clip is all
about money, sex and parties and having ‘fun’.
-
Introducing people involved
-
Likes: It keep on the
screen, explosives, engages. First 5 seconds of the clip shows many pictures
put together very close together, you want to watch more, well-known music, the
entire clip reflects on the movie and fast pace. The actor are introduced with
picture behind their names reflecting on the film and perhaps on their
character they are playing
-
Dislikes: When introducing the actors, it doesn’t show their face and what
they look like, a lot of think about in a short period of time
Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll
-
The audience once
again would be targeted an younger audience rather than a older audience
-
Likes: Voice over the
action and keeps going back to her and his band in concert where they are
performance to a large number of people and they are mainly girl. It inishes on
a high and it reflect on his life
-
Dislike: The clip is
basically about his life and it doesn’t really engage me as an audience
-
It is cartoon
like and seems childlike though the title is about adult topics
I Robot
The
opening scene
-
Since the film is action packed and science-fiction,
the audience would obviously be people who watch action films,
-
Likes: The music begins and straight away I want to
know why and what is going to happen. The colours are representing something by
suggesting that something bad with the film is going to happen. For example,
when the credits are presenting I Robot the colour red is behind the text suggest
blood or even death. Then ‘I Robot’ turns into bubbles and then slowly
disappears and this could suggest the story is something to do with watch or
oxygen. Also, introducing the film with ‘Laws’, I think is a very good idea
since it tells the audience some background information, flashbacks – more information
and knowledge of what is going on or about to happen in the film. Within the
‘Laws’ there is a very short sense of someone trapped in a car underwater. It
suggests that she/he is struggling and could symbolize death within the film, I
Robot. After that, it moves straight onto the next Law. After Law II, there is
short clip of two car underwater, one female in one car and a male in another,
the man is struggling with something but as audience we don’t know what he is
struggling from and that suggest to an audience, mysterious and it is slightly
frightening because it is a quick clip of what might happen in the film. And
again, it is straight onto the next Law – fast pace and quick moving. At the 1
minute 18 seconds point, the camera has stood still on the female in the car to
suggest giving up and accepting the fact that she can’t do anything to help the
male character or help herself. But something comes out of the blue and it breaks
the glass and overall it looks that the male character is going to be saved.
And finally what I love about this clip is at the 1 minute and 24 seconds
stage, Will Smith who plays Detective
Del Spooner (maim character)seems like he has just woken up from a dream. But
also it doesn’t give too much information out about the film.
An effective analysis of the opening sequence. I'm pleased by the amount of information you have managed to extract from the clips.
